# Key management

Key Management - MVP Functions

## **Objective**

Provide fundamental key management capabilities including key lifecycle operations and metadata management.

### **Functions**

#### **1. Key Listing & Discovery**

* View all available keys in a centralized dashboard
* See key names, types, creation dates, and current status
* Basic search and filter capabilities to locate specific keys

* Generate new encryption keys with simple naming
* Automatic key activation upon creation
* Default cryptographic settings for streamlined setup

#### **3. Key Status Control**

* **Enable/Disable Keys**: Temporarily activate or deactivate keys
* Immediate status updates across the system
* Visual indicators showing key availability status

#### **4. Dormant key detection**

* Automatically classify keys as idle or dormant based on inactivity period
* Configurable thresholds for idle and dormant detection per workspace
* Helps identify unused keys and take action before they become a security risk
