### I am new. Where should I start? <a href="#i-am-new-where-should-i-start" id="i-am-new-where-should-i-start"></a>

#### What is the Report & Analytics Center? <a href="#what-is-the-report--analytics-center" id="what-is-the-report--analytics-center"></a>

<figure><img src="https://40810359-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FNLjw84bGTVza9xA8NxxB%2Fuploads%2FTX1FRiMd6mo1CrZRfEcI%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=4b3a7846-4a85-42ae-81a7-836dc589ecb5" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The Report & Analytics Center is a consolidated reporting hub embedded within the Admin Portal. It provides authorized staff with visual dashboards and data tables that surface key performance indicators across four domains:

* **User Analytics** -- account activity, activation rates, daily active users, and login health
* **App Analytics** -- application-level usage metrics and behavioral trends
* **Organization Analytics** -- organization-scoped identity and account metrics
* **Revenue Analytics** -- revenue summaries and distribution breakdowns

The analytics dashboards are powered by an embedded analytics platform (Superset) that renders directly inside the portal. You do not need to log in to a separate system.

***

#### Why does this matter? <a href="#why-does-this-matter" id="why-does-this-matter"></a>

The Report & Analytics Center helps you:

* Track user growth and identify activation bottlenecks
* Monitor login failure patterns and diagnose authentication issues
* Understand organization-level account health and role distribution
* Review revenue performance and sharing breakdowns
* Make data-driven decisions using historical trend analysis

***

#### Who is this for? <a href="#who-is-this-for" id="who-is-this-for"></a>

This guide is intended for:

* **Organization Owners** -- full access to org-scoped analytics dashboards
* **Organization Administrators** -- full access to org-scoped analytics dashboards
* **Platform Administrators** -- access to platform-level metrics (Super Admin Count, cross-org views)
* **Authorized Staff** -- access to the Report & Analytics Center based on assigned permissions

Members with no administrative role **cannot** access the analytics dashboards. The tab is hidden from their sidebar, and direct URL access redirects to the Homepage.

***

### Purpose <a href="#purpose" id="purpose"></a>

* Understand what the Report & Analytics Center provides and how it is organized
* Learn how to navigate each analytics domain (User, App, Organization, Revenue)
* Apply date-range filters and interpret metric cards, charts, and tables
* Know the access rules, data isolation guarantees, and timezone behavior

***

### Prerequisites <a href="#prerequisites" id="prerequisites"></a>

Before using the Report & Analytics Center, ensure that:

* You are signed in to the Admin Portal with an **Owner**, **Admin**, or authorized staff role
* Your organization account is active and has generated activity data
* Your browser timezone is correctly configured (timestamps display in your local timezone)
* You have a supported browser at a standard screen resolution (the dashboard is responsive but may clip on very narrow viewports)

***

### I already understand. How do I proceed step by step? <a href="#i-already-understand-how-do-i-proceed-step-by-step" id="i-already-understand-how-do-i-proceed-step-by-step"></a>

#### Step 1: Open the Report & Analytics Center <a href="#step-1-open-the-report--analytics-center" id="step-1-open-the-report--analytics-center"></a>

* Sign in to the **Admin Portal**
* Locate the **Analytics** tab in the left sidebar navigation
* Click **Analytics** to open the Report & Analytics Center
* The embedded dashboard loads automatically without requiring a separate login

If you do not see the Analytics tab, your account role does not have access. Contact your Organization Owner or Platform Administrator.

***

#### Step 2: Understand the Dashboard Layout <a href="#step-2-understand-the-dashboard-layout" id="step-2-understand-the-dashboard-layout"></a>

The dashboard is organized into the following sections:

**Metric Cards** -- Summary tiles at the top of the dashboard, each displaying a single key value:

| Card | Description | Format |
| ------------------------ | --------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------ |
| Super Admin Count | Total number of super administrators in the system | Whole number |
| Activated Accounts % | Percentage of accounts that have been activated | Percentage with decimals |
| Daily Active Users (DAU) | Count of unique users who performed any activity on a given day | Whole number |
| Active User Rate % | Percentage of total users who are currently active | Percentage with decimals |

Each metric card includes a tooltip icon (i) that explains the metric definition when hovered.

**Charts** -- Time-series visualizations below the metric cards:

| Chart | Type | What It Shows |
| ------------------------------------- | ---------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Daily Active Users & Active User Rate | Area chart | Trend of unique daily users and the active-user percentage over the selected date range |
| Daily Login Failure Rate | Line chart | Percentage of failed login attempts per day over the selected date range |

Hover over any data point on a chart to see a tooltip with the exact value and date.

**Login Failure Reason Table** -- A tabular breakdown at the bottom of the dashboard:

| Column | Description |
| ----------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Authentication Method | The login method used (e.g., password, SSO, MFA) |
| Failure Reason Category | The category of failure (e.g., invalid credentials, expired token, account locked) |
| Total Failed Attempts | Count of failed login attempts for that method and reason combination |

***

#### Step 3: Apply Date-Range Filters <a href="#step-3-apply-date-range-filters" id="step-3-apply-date-range-filters"></a>

* Locate the **date picker** at the top of the dashboard
* Select a **Start date** from the calendar
* Select an **End date** from the calendar
* Click **Apply** to update all dashboard widgets

All metric cards, charts, and the failure-reason table update simultaneously to reflect only data within the selected range.

**Validation rules:**

* The End date cannot be earlier than the Start date. The system blocks invalid selections or displays an error.
* If you select only a Start date without an End date, a validation message prompts you to complete the range.

***

#### Step 4: Reset Filters <a href="#step-4-reset-filters" id="step-4-reset-filters"></a>

* Click **Clear All** next to the date picker
* The dashboard returns to its default, unfiltered state showing all available data

***

#### Step 5: Review User Analytics <a href="#step-5-review-user-analytics" id="step-5-review-user-analytics"></a>

The User Analytics view focuses on user account and activity metrics:

* **Account activation rates** -- track how many registered users have completed activation versus total registered accounts
* **Daily Active Users (DAU)** -- monitor the count of unique users who performed any activity on each day, displayed as an area chart trending over time
* **Active User Rate** -- understand what proportion of your total user base is actively engaging, shown as both a metric card percentage and an area chart overlay
* **Login failure rate** -- identify spikes in failed authentication attempts via the dedicated line chart
* **Failure reason breakdown** -- drill into the Login Failure Reason table to see which authentication methods and failure categories are most common

Use the date-range filter to compare activity across different time periods. For example, narrow to the last 7 days to spot recent anomalies, or expand to 90 days for trend analysis.

***

#### Step 6: Review App Analytics <a href="#step-6-review-app-analytics" id="step-6-review-app-analytics"></a>

The App Analytics view presents application-level usage data:

* **Application usage metrics** -- see how each registered application is being used, including session counts and activity trends
* **Behavioral trends** -- track changes in application engagement over configurable time periods
* **Application-scoped filtering** -- narrow metrics to a specific application or compare across multiple applications
* **Time-range controls** -- adjust the reporting window using the same date picker available on other dashboard views

Navigate to the App Analytics section within the Report & Analytics Center to access these metrics. The view is restricted to authorized staff with the appropriate permissions.

***

#### Step 7: Review Organization Analytics <a href="#step-7-review-organization-analytics" id="step-7-review-organization-analytics"></a>

The Organization Analytics view provides organization-scoped reporting:

* **User counts** -- total users, active users, and new registrations within your organization
* **Role distribution** -- breakdown of users by role (Owner, Admin, Member) within your organization
* **Session activity** -- login and session metrics scoped to your organization
* **Audit trends** -- historical patterns in account lifecycle events (activation, deactivation, role changes)
* **Time-range selection** -- filter organization metrics to specific periods for trend comparison

Each organization sees **only its own data**. There is no cross-organization data leakage. If Org Admin A and Org Admin B open the same dashboard, each sees exclusively their own organization's metrics. This isolation is enforced at the data layer, not just the UI.

***

#### Step 8: Review Revenue Analytics <a href="#step-8-review-revenue-analytics" id="step-8-review-revenue-analytics"></a>

The Revenue Analytics view surfaces financial performance data:

* **Revenue summary** -- aggregate monetary performance figures for a selected period
* **Sharing breakdown** -- allocation and distribution of revenue among relevant parties
* Date-range filters to scope the financial data to specific periods

Navigate to the Revenue & Sharing section to access these reports.

***

#### Step 9: Interpret Chart Interactions <a href="#step-9-interpret-chart-interactions" id="step-9-interpret-chart-interactions"></a>

* **Hover** over any data point on an area chart or line chart to display a tooltip showing the value and date
* **Metric cards** display formatted values: whole numbers for counts, percentage with `%` sign for rates
* **Large numbers** include thousands separators and will not overflow the card layout
* When a metric appears in both a card and a chart, the values are consistent

***

#### Step 10: Understand Loading and Empty States <a href="#step-10-understand-loading-and-empty-states" id="step-10-understand-loading-and-empty-states"></a>

The dashboard handles edge cases gracefully:

| State | What You See |
| ------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Data loading | A skeleton placeholder or spinner while data is being fetched |
| Data fetch failure | An error message is displayed -- the screen is never blank |
| No data in selected range | "0" or an empty-state placeholder is shown -- never NaN, undefined, or null |
| Rapid filter changes | The final displayed data always matches the last-applied filter with no stale results |

***

### Important Notes <a href="#important-notes" id="important-notes"></a>

* **Role-based access** -- Only Owner and Admin roles can view the Analytics tab. Members are excluded at both the navigation and URL level. A Member who manually types the dashboard URL is silently redirected to the Homepage.
* **Organization data isolation** -- Each organization's data is strictly isolated. No cross-organization data is ever displayed, regardless of the viewer's role within the analytics platform.
* **Timezone awareness** -- Your browser's timezone is automatically sent to the analytics platform when the dashboard loads. All timestamps and date-based metrics display in your local timezone.
* **Date validation** -- You cannot select an End date earlier than the Start date. The system enforces this constraint at the UI level.
* **Data consistency** -- When the same metric appears in multiple widgets (card and chart), the values are guaranteed to match. Page refresh reloads data correctly.
* **Responsive layout** -- The dashboard is designed to render without clipping at supported screen sizes. Chart backgrounds are white with gray borders for readability.
* **Filter scope** -- Date-range filters apply to all widgets simultaneously. No widget is exempt from the active filter.
